Cité Nature was recently set up in the Art Deco building of a former miner’s lamp factory, which was converted by the famous architect, Jean Nouvel. It is a cultural and scientific centre dedicated to questions that are asked about food, agriculture, nature and health.

The Wellington Quarry is an underground site filled with memories and emotion: visit the Wellington Quarry and share the experience of thousands of soldiers who were stationed below ground before the terrible 9th April 1917 offensive.

The Fine Arts Museum occupies two thirds of the abbey. It is the best way to become immersed in the atmosphere of the site… while admiring some remarkable collections.

Nemetacum is an archaeological site founded 2000 years ago by the Romans.

Guided Tour of Les Boves: A tourist circuit under the town streets enables you to discover the "underground history" of Arras. Originally chalk quarries, the "boves" were dug from the 10th century onwards and used for various purposes through the ages, including cellars and silos. This network of galleries, which covers the size of the town and beyond, also served as a shelter and rallying point for the allied troops in 1917 as they awaited their decisive attack : the Battle of Arras.

Arras Golf Course: Five minutes away from the town centre, in the heart of the Scarpe Valley, in an exceptional environment lined with rivers, lakes and hills, the Arras Golf Course is one of the most beautiful golf complexes in the North of France.

The Canadian National Vimy Memorial: Canada's most impressive tribute overseas to those Canadians who fought and gave their lives in the First World War is the majestic and inspiring Canadian National Vimy Memorial which overlooks the Douai Plain from the highest point of Vimy Ridge, about ten kilometres north of Arras. The Memorial does more than mark the site of the engagement that Canadians were to remember with more pride than any other operation of the First World War. It stands as a tribute to all who served their country in battle in that four-year struggle and particularly to those who gave their lives.
